In October 2022, when the phone rang, the voice at the other end delivered the following: “There’s a trip to Socotra in March 2023. It’s reopened since this year (2022). B. and I are going. I’ve been dreaming of going there for 15 years. Would you like to come?”

My encounter with Socotra occurred in March 2023 when I spent a week on the island on a classic tour. Ever since then and there, the thought of returning burgeoned within me… initially, for a month.
In December, that very year, I returned to spend four weeks on the island, on my newfound planet #MYNEWPLANET.
